The available free 2.3.2 release uses public third-party screenshot hosting. The forthcoming Fantyzo Pro 2.4.0 path uses an authenticated account and private Fantyzo Cloud. They have different privacy behavior; a Pro announcement does not change files already sent to an independent host.

Free-release screenshots and local History

When you capture a screenshot with 2.3.2, the screenshot is uploaded anonymously to Catbox, an independent host. Its public URL is copied to your clipboard and stored in local Fantyzo History along with a small preview. Anyone with that URL can view the image.

Delete or Clear in History removes local entries and previews. It does not delete anonymous Catbox uploads. The independent provider’s policies govern hosted files and retention.

Private Cloud screenshots

The Pro Cloud upload path sends your screenshot to Fantyzo Cloud with an authenticated session. The screenshot and information needed to identify the object, associate it with your account, and account for storage usage are handled by the service. An upload does not create a public sharing link.

Private by default means that access requires authorization. It does not mean end-to-end encryption or that the service stores no data. This website makes neither claim.

Account and session information

The Pro client submits your Fantyzo username and password for sign-in, then an authenticator code for verification. The verification request includes the device name, operating-system platform, and app version. The client clears the entered password and code after submission; the development client keeps its issued session token in memory.

Account and session information is used to authenticate access to the service. Your Fantyzo account is separate from a Second Life account. Fantyzo does not require your Second Life password.

Recordings on your computer

Current desktop recordings are saved as local MP4 files in the Fantyzo folder under Videos. They leave your computer only if you choose to upload or share them using an available service or another tool.

Optional picture-frame service

If you choose to send supported links to a Fantyzo picture frame, the frame service stores those links so the frame can display them. The legacy frame service handles screenshot links rather than hosting the image bytes itself. Displaying an image in-world can make it visible to others.

Website requests and providers

Fantyzo uses HTTPS for its website and service connections. Cloudflare and the hosting infrastructure process network requests and the information needed to deliver and protect the service. Visiting the website or checking for updates is a network interaction; “no account required” in the free desktop release does not mean a web request transmits no information.

These static information pages do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or third-party font requests. Downloads and service connections may involve separate provider processing.

Sharing and retention

Public sharing is a separate user choice in the Cloud design and remains in development. Existing public-host links follow the host’s rules. See Private Saving & Sharing.

The planned Pro service includes 10 GB. Over-quota files are retained while new uploads stop; ending an add-on does not itself cause deletion. After Pro entitlement ends, a 30-day recovery grace period applies, after which remaining files become eligible for permanent deletion. Explicit user-confirmed deletion is separate and may be immediate. See the complete Storage & Retention policy.
